In the United States, Apple refurbished costs 14%–15% less than the same configuration new at the median, depending on the category (Mac 15% and iPad 14%). The deepest discount is the iMac 24-inch · M4 · 8-core CPU · 8-core GPU · 16GB · 256GB · Gigabit Ethernet: $1,289 instead of $1,529, 16% less.

How we count
The discount is 1 minus the refurbished price divided by the new price of the same configuration, both as Apple lists them in that country. Only refurbished configurations in stock now that also have a new price are counted. Each category shows the median of those discounts. The deepest discount is the single configuration with the largest gap in the country. Countries and categories with too few comparable configurations are left blank rather than shown as 0%.
